Change Log: 1.24.256

I just took a night off to do some play- and usability-testing and have a close read of the logs, so this releases pushes a collection of presentation/prettiness/normalization and QoL adjustments. There are only a couple major features to add before we're "feature complete", so this one has a lot of house-keeping and reorganization related to the effort of making space for those.

Change Log: 1.24.231

Getting back to it after the break. This is mostly a housekeeping update to get us in good shape for a final features push: the tentative target for being "feature complete" is now the first week of January 2016. As far as features go, this release pushes the elemental/fundamental user preferences and user exports features (the sprint that starts today has the primary goal of implementing campaign exports (dict, PDF and XLS), and this is the first step).

This release introduces Ability and Impairment customization and adds resource root types to Settlement Storage (as superscript letters, e.g. "H" for "hide", etc.). I'm gearing up to be out of office for the holiday, so daily releases are going to dry up for a while: I'll be back to it early next week.

This push implements Weapon Proficiencies (!) and enforces settlement normalization a little more aggressively/frequently, which should make multiplayer sessions less buggy (with respect to bogus death count auto-incrementing, etc.).

This is a housekeeping/sysadmin update, mostly. The only new feature in this sprint is the Hunting Party updater that increments/decrements stats for members of the Hunting Party from the Campaign Summary view. Otherwise, this one is pre-production for a handful of QoL features that I want to implement this week.

All views now have a functional wide (e.g. desktop) resolution option. The "Return from Hunt" feature has been updated to automate the every-other-hunt skipping of Survivors with the "Secretive" disorder. Applied a handful of presentation, typo and style fixes.

Another step on the path to wide-resolution support: the Dashboard has been reconfigured for wide resolutions. The "World" menu has been added to the dashboard and supersedes the "System" menu as the source for misc. stats and facts.

Change Log: 1.21.155

First off, the total death count across all settlements hit 100 last night! Second, this is a huge release: the new Settlement Storage UI (with stacking items) is included, the "sign in" view is redesigned and works at narrow and wide resolutions, a handful of administrative features are included (admin panel, enhanced logging, user password change) and survivor deaths are now indexed in their own collection, among other things. Whew!

Pushing a handful of population and death count increment/decrement fixes in this one (in addition to some other, lower-stakes bug fixes and corrections). Most of the fixes are consequences of paying down some technical debt re: Settlement minimum values (which were not implemented well in the first place). Added Survivor parents.

Hello World! officially said "Hello World!" on 2015-12-02 in the /r/KingdomDeath sub-Reddit: Online KDM campaign tracking tool?

Following that secretive "announcement", I worked with the volunteer testers from that thread (via Reddit PM and email) for a few days to refine the design, tackle the biggest usability issues and work out the major kinks.

A few days later, I decided to cast my net a little wider, and created a thread to solicit feedback from anybody who felt like checking out the Manager: Check Out My Mobile Campaign Manager

This caused a small explosion in registrations: we went from 12 registered users to 206 in five days.

It also caused a small explosion in changes/fixes/improvements/features and general development activity.

In order to organize and archive communication about features and updates, I built an in-app change log.

The next step, from here, is the creation of this blog, which will redirect from The point of the blog is to provide a more feature-rich, desktop-friendly resource for managing development and collaboration around the Manager.
